"Et tu, Brute?"

Another YEAR in the BOOKS!

Another school year begins: students rushing through the halls, chattering in the quad, searching for their classes, listening to their teachers, getting ready to participate in extra and co-curricular activities. In yearbook class students feel twice the rush. Returning members explain to new ones about the challenges as well as the responsibilities associated with putting together a meaningful yearbook.

Avid English Encounters Socrates!

This year, AVID English classes at Amador High School have read "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks". The book is about an African American woman who died of cervical cancer and became an unkowing donor of immortal cells. Her cells, unlike most, continued to grow in culture and did not die. The immortal cell line would provide an ideal tissue that could be used to study the behavior of cancer cells.
